Creamy Mashed Potatoes
If you're wondering how to make mashed potatoes for your Christmas dinner, this easy to follow recipe is guaranteed to deliver the best mashed potatoes you'll ever serve! Ingredients
- 1kg potatoes
- a splash milk or cream (optional)
- butter
- nutmeg (optional)
Method
Step 1: First peel the potatoes and slice them into evenly-sized pieces approximately 3x3cm. It’s important to note that if they aren’t they aren’t cut evenly, they will cook at different speeds.
Step 2: Next, boil the potatoes making sure you only cook them until tender. Then drain and return to the pan to briefly steam dry them.
Step 3: Once you have dry, cooked potatoes, if you are using milk or cream add them into the pan and put it back over the heat until the liquid is hot.
Step 4: Add a knob of butter then begin to mash until smooth. The Morphy Richards Electric Hand Blender for a quicker approach. Once mixed, if you’d like, season with a little nutmeg for an extra depth of flavour.
