Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 1kg potatoes
  • a splash milk or cream (optional)
  • butter
  • nutmeg (optional)

Method

Step 1: First peel the potatoes and slice them into evenly-sized pieces approximately 3x3cm. It’s important to note that if they aren’t they aren’t cut evenly, they will cook at different speeds. 

Step 2: Next, boil the potatoes making sure you only cook them until tender. Then drain and return to the pan to briefly steam dry them. 

Step 3: Once you have dry, cooked potatoes, if you are using milk or cream add them into the pan and put it back over the heat until the liquid is hot.
