How To Iron Embroidered Patches To Clothes

Knowing how to iron embroidered patches onto clothes is useful because it helps you attach them neatly and securely without damaging the fabric. Why not use a Morphy Richards iron for this, as it has the ideal features like a ceramic soleplate or precise heat control for your patches.

What You’ll Need

  • Your Morphy Richards iron.

  • The garment you want to apply the patches to, clean and dry.

  • The embroidered patches.

  • A thin, clean cloth or tea towel to protect the patch during ironing.

  • An ironing board.

How to Iron Embroidered Patches

Step 1: Lay the garment flat on the ironing board. Position the patches where you want them.

Step 2: Plug in your Morphy Richards iron and set the temperature to its maximum setting. It’s essential to turn off the steam function so the steam can’t interfere with the patch.

Why not try our Power Steam Elite 3000W LED Steam Iron? The clear LED display shows the temperature, so you can easily see the maximum heat level. Plus, when you need to turn off the steam function, the display makes it simple to see when it is off.

Step 3: Iron the patch onto the garment.

Step 4: Take a clean, thin cloth or tea towel and place it over the patch. This prevents direct contact between the iron and the patch, protecting the fabric and embroidery from heat damage.

Step 5: Firmly press the iron onto the cloth-covered patch. Use pressure and avoid moving the iron back and forth. Moving the iron can cause the patch to move out of place.

Why not try our Steam Flow 2400W Turbo Steam Iron? It has a ceramic soleplate that glides smoothly and heats evenly. This makes it easy to press the entire patch firmly onto the garment, ensuring it irons nicely and evenly.

Step 6: Turn the garment inside out or flip it over so you can access the underside of the patch. Again, place the cloth over the area and press the iron firmly onto the back of the patch.

If you need to move around your ironing board while flipping or turning your garment inside out, try our Steam Flow 2400W Turbo Steam Iron. It has a 2.5-metre cable, making it easier to move around and find the perfect position to iron your patch onto your garment.

Step 7: Turn the garment back to its original side and check if the edges of the patch are fully secured. If any edges lift, repeat the ironing process on the front and back until the patch is fully attached.

Step 8: If you’re applying several patches, repeat the above steps for each one.
