Cooking time: 25 minutes
Serves: 12 Donuts (approx)

Ingredients

  • 210g Plain Flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 120ml Warm Milk
  • 45g Butter (melted), plus extra for the air fryer
  • 30g Cane Sugar
  • 15ml Light-Tasting Oil
  • 10g Instant Dried Yeast
  • 5ml Vanilla
  • 2.5g Nutmeg
  • Coating: 100g Caster or Coconut Sugar
  • Coating: 5g Cinnamon
  • Coating: 45g Butter (melted)
  • Optional Filling: 120g Raspberry Jam

Method

Step 1: Add all the donut ingredients to your Morphy Richards Stand Mixer or large bowl. Mix and knead until smooth and elastic. The dough should be tacky but shouldn’t stick to the side of the bowl. We want the dough to be as wet as possible (without sticking).

Step 2: Allow the dough to rest in a WARM spot for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Step 3: On a floured surface, roll out the dough so it’s about 2cm thick. Use a small cookie cutter (around 4cm) to cut rounds out of the dough.

Step 4: Collect the excess dough, roll, and cut again. The more you roll the dough, the tougher your donuts will be.

Step 5: Allow the shaped donuts to rise for another 1 hour.

Step 6: Preheat your Morphy Richards Digital Dual Basket Air Fryer to 180C. Brush the inside with melted butter and arrange the donuts on the tray.

Step 7: Air fry the donuts for around 10 minutes (depending on the size) or until they are golden brown. flip the donuts halfway (optional).

Step 8: Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bow and set to one side.

Step 9: When the donuts are still warm, dip or brush them with melted butter then dip them in the cinnamon sugar.

Step 10: Insert a stick or knife into each donut making room for the jam.

Step 11: Use a piping bag with a small nozzle to fill the donuts.

Step 12: Enjoy! They are best eaten on the same day or slightly warm!

Wow these did not work at all. Not sure if it was us or what but they came out like tiny tiny rocks and were SO nutmeggy

Thanks for that. I’ve been looking for the timing that I should air fry these kind of donuts for.
